We love nachos! I mean, what's not to love? They are a lot like tacos (yum!), covered in cheese, and you eat them with your hands!

These sheet pan nachos will have your whole family running to the dinner table to enjoy. Plus, they make a super easy weeknight dinner. You can sneak in a lot of veggies too! The beauty of nachos is their versatility, so you can change up our suggested toppings below based on your family's preferences and what you have in the fridge!

Just don't forget the napkins.

At Macaroni KID, we skip the fluff and get straight to the good stuff. No need to scroll through pages of unnecessary content — our recipes are easy to find. Now let's get cooking!

Sheet Pan Nachos

What you need:

  • Taco meat (ground turkey or beef, or cut up steak or even chicken works)
  • Tortilla chips (thick ones are best)
  • 1 can black beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 can corn (drained)
  • 1 can sliced olives (drained)
  • 1 small or medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Other ideas for toppings: Bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and jalapenos or banana peppers. All sliced.

For garnish:

  • Sour cream
  • Avocado or guacamole
  • Salsa (you can add this to baking layers, if you prefer)
  • Tomato, diced
  • One jalapeño pepper, seeded and thinly sliced (you can buy in a jar also)
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped

Directions:

  1. Cook your favorite taco meat (we use ground turkey and taco seasoning mix for quick and easy taco meat).
  2. Prep your favorite nachos ingredients.
  3. Line sheet pan with tortilla chips.
  4. Layer ingredients: Taco meat and the other toppings you will be baking and top with cheese.
  5. Bake the nachos at 400 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes. Keep an eye on it — once the cheese is melted and bubbly, they are done.
  6. While the nachos bake, prep your garnish ingredients.
  7. You can add the garnish items to the top when serving, or serve on the side so everyone can add what they'd like.
  8. Be careful! The pan will be HOT!
