Athens Get Ready to Splish Splash

Ingleside Pool Opens

The Athens Parks and Recreation Department announces the opening of the Ingleside Pool on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 12:15 p.m. with the annual Pools-In/Schools-Out day with free admission to all attendees. 

Pool hours of operation will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12:15 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., Wednesdays from 12:15 p.m. until 5:45 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. 

Pool rates are $2 for patrons under 18 and senior citizens (55 and over) and $3 for adults 18 and older.  Patrons ages 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Patrons ages 10 to 15 who can swim, can pass a swim test administered by the lifeguards, and have a liability release form signed by a parent or legal guardian, do not have to be accompanied by an adult. This is required before being allowed to stay without adult supervision. Ages 16 and up may enter without adult supervision. 

Season passes are available at $50 for youth and $80 for adults. Family passes (3 immediate family members) are available for $180 plus $25 for each additional immediate family member. Seven-Use Passes are also available at $10 for seven visits to the pool, which can be used by multiple people with no exclusions. Pool passes are currently on sale and can be purchased at the Athens Parks and Recreation Department’s office, located at 815 N. Jackson St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Pool Party reservations are now being taken. Pool Parties are $40 per hour for up to 50 people inside the gate. For parties with more than 50 people, it is $15 per hour for each additional 25 people. Pool party times are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.; Wednesdays and Sundays between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.; and Mondays through Saturdays between 9 a.m. and noon. Each party can be extended in half-hour increments after the first hour.

The Schools-In/Pools-Out day is Sunday, August 4. This will be the last operating day, with free admission to all attend
